The first bird I chose to paint is from the GAVIIDEA family.
Species name- Gavia stallata (Red-throated Loon)

I will post progress as I go.

Kinda forgot to photograph from the start, but here I've blocked in the background and the loon and started adding some detail

Coming close! I usually paint the eye in last but I was having somewhat of a problem with the light angle, and thought I'd paint it in to see if the shadowing in the upper half of the eye would help bring the picture together.

Almost finished! A little more detail and my signature and I will be finished with the first of 72

PS, all photo's are taken on my cell cam so some color and detail has been lost. Final painting will be scanned for best quality.

Well Here Is the finished Picture for now! I was thinking I might still add a few flowers or something to the foreground grass, still yet to be decided.
